Pashinyan: Armenia proposes mutual rail freight transportation to Azerbaijan

Yerevan proposes Baku to begin mutual rail freight transportation, with the corresponding suggestion sent to the Azerbaijani side, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a press conference.
"We have proposed a specific solution to Azerbaijan regarding the opening of communications. It takes into account both Armenia's and Azerbaijan's positions. Considering these positions, we propose Baku to start rail freight transportation from western regions of Azerbaijan through the city of Meghri in Armenia to Nakhchivan, and in the reverse direction," said Pashinyan.
According to him, Yerevan also proposes Baku to start rail freight transportation through Nakhchivan to Armenia's Meghri.
"In the future, with the appropriate atmosphere, we will start exploring passenger transportation as well. We are waiting for a positive response from Azerbaijan," the Armenian prime minister said.
